Connect Cerino to Claude and ChatGPT
Bring your company’s approved knowledge into the AI assistant you already use, and send what you learn there back for your team to approve.
What the connector does
Cerino keeps your company’s Brain: its decisions, definitions, processes and facts, each approved by a named person. The Cerino connector is a remote MCP server that lets an AI assistant:
- Read your approved Brain, so answers about your company come from what your company actually decided, with links to the source.
- Propose new memories, people, organizations, goals and issues from your conversation. Proposals wait in Cerino until an owner or manager approves them.
The connector cannot approve, edit or delete anything in your Brain. Approval happens only in the Cerino app, by a person.
Before you start
- A Cerino workspace, and an invitation to it for the email address you sign in with. Cerino is invite-only during early access.
- A Google or Microsoft account with that email address.
- An AI assistant that supports remote MCP connectors: Claude (web, desktop or mobile), Claude Code, or ChatGPT.
The connector address is:
https://mcp.cerino.ai/mcpSet up in Claude
- Open Settings → Connectors. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may need to add the connector for the organization first.
- Find Cerino in the connector directory, or choose Add custom connector, name it Cerino, and paste the address above.
- Select Connect, review what Cerino will be able to do, and sign in with Google or Microsoft.
- In a conversation, ask something about your company. Claude asks your permission before the first use of each tool, and before any tool that writes a proposal.
Set up in Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http cerino https://mcp.cerino.ai/mcpThen run /mcp in Claude Code and choose Cerino to sign in.
Set up in ChatGPT
- Open Settings → Apps & Connectors. Find Cerino if it is listed; otherwise, where your plan allows custom connectors, turn on developer mode under Advanced and create a connector with the address above.
- Sign in with Google or Microsoft when prompted.
- Enable Cerino in a conversation and ask about your company.
Tools
Read your Brain
These only read. Your assistant can run them without changing anything.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
Recall from the Brainget_brain_context | Finds the approved memories relevant to a question, each with a link back to Cerino so the answer can cite it. |
Trace why the company believes somethingtrace | Follows a memory's links: what supports it, what it replaced and what replaced it, what depends on it, and what contradicts it. |
Find people and organizationsfind_entities | Looks up the people, organizations, projects and systems your company has recorded. |
Read everything about one person or organizationget_entity | Shows what one person, organization, project or system is, how it connects to the rest of the business, and the approved memories about it. |
List the company's goalslist_goals | Lists your company's active and draft goals. |
List the company's open issueslist_issues | Lists the problems your company has recorded, most urgent first. |
Search your documentssearch_documents | Finds the documents people keep in Cerino (proposals, write-ups, contracts, uploaded files) by words in their title or text, with a link to each. |
Read a documentget_document | Reads one document in full, or what it said at an earlier date. Very long documents are cut and the result says so. |
List proposals waiting for reviewlist_pending_suggestions | Shows proposals waiting for someone to approve them, with a link to each. |
Check the Brain's healthget_brain_health | Reports how complete and current your company's Brain is. |
Check the Cerino connectionping | Confirms the connector works and shows which account is signed in. |
In ChatGPT, Cerino also provides the standard search and fetch tools, which search approved memories and open one in full.
Propose to your Brain
These create proposals, not facts. Nothing a proposal says is treated as your company’s record until a person approves it. None of them delete or overwrite anything.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
Propose a memorypropose_memory | Submits a decision, definition, process or fact as a proposal. It enters the Brain only after a person approves it in Cerino. |
Propose a person or organizationpropose_entity | Adds a person, organization, project or system as proposed, until an owner or manager confirms it. |
Propose a goalpropose_goal | Adds a draft goal, which an owner or manager activates. |
Open an issueopen_issue | Records a problem that is in your company's way. |
The connector also offers three prompts (start a conversation with your Brain, save this conversation to your Brain, and see what is waiting for review) and a guide resource your assistant can read.
Things to try
- “What did we decide about our pricing for new clients?”
- “Who is our main contact at our largest customer?”
- “We just agreed that every proposal goes out within two business days. Save that to the Brain.”
- “What is waiting for review?”
What Cerino receives
Only the inputs of each tool call: for example the question being looked up, or the text of a memory being proposed, plus the name of the assistant that sent it. Cerino does not see your conversation, your assistant’s memory or your files. Everything you can read through the connector is limited to your own workspace and your role in it. See the Privacy Policy and Terms.
Troubleshooting
- “This sign-in isn’t linked to a Cerino workspace.” The email you signed in with has not been invited. Ask your workspace owner to invite it, then disconnect and reconnect Cerino.
- The assistant says it could not reach Cerino. Disconnect and reconnect the connector in your assistant’s settings, and sign in again.
- A proposal does not appear in the Brain. That is expected until someone approves it. Ask “what is waiting for review?” to see it and its review link.
Disconnect
Remove Cerino in your assistant’s connector settings at any time. That ends its access. Proposals already submitted stay in Cerino for your team to review.
